Josemaria Salutan Luengo can bid their last farewell on Tuesday before he will be laid to rest at the Tubigon Catholic Cemetery after a requiem mass at 9 a.m. at the St. Isidore Parich Church in Tubigon, Bohol  . Fr. Luengo, who had been an inspiration to many, passed away last August 29, due to complications following a stroke in 2004.  It maybe recalled that sometime in 2000, Fr. Luengo undergone a heart by-pass operation in the United States. Some of his greatest legacies of being a priest, educator, and philanthropist were the establishments of Mater Dei College and Salus Institute of Technology in Cabulijan, Tubigon, Bohol.  He also supported the studies of some deserving youth who later became priests, CPAs, mentors, engineers and other professionals. Bohol Election: Comelec Reshuffle

A reshuffling of elections officers all over Bohol came in effect last April 19 has assured the people that no election officer may show bias to his local chief executive.   New Tagbilaran City Election Officer Atty. Ricardo Villares bared this as he stressed that the rigodon should put election officers away from the allegations that they are conniving with the mayors and other local officials to assure their victories.   Villares, who came from vote-rich Loon also said the Commission on Elections has almost finished its preparations  for the elections.   Other than testing and sealing the Prescint Count Optical Scanners (PCOS) the Comelec would also have to attempt to transmit the results of a test run within the next few days.   Bohol election officer Eliseo Labaria Jr also said he hopes polls in Bohol would go smooth and peaceful, urging losing candidates to candidly accept defeat and stop being sore losers by spinning tales of being cheated. - PIA

Tagbilaran Mayor Draws Battle Line

By Sunday Post Less than nine months into the May 2010 elections, the lines have been drawn.            This was the observation given by Tagbilaran Mayor Dan Lim regarding next year's polls.             "With very few exceptions, most voters in Tagbilaran have already made up their minds on whom to vote," the mayor said.            Lim noted that the people already know whether they are supporting or rejecting his bid for a third term.            The mayor pointed out that wherever he goes as part of his daily visit to the puroks in the different barangays, he can tell that people have already made a decision.             "It is doubtful if there is still any development that can make them change their minds," he added.            Lim said that unlike in previous years, the early decision made by prospective voters is the demarcation line between those who appreciate his programs and projects and those who don't.             "Those who approve of ...
